JEMMICUMJUNTO, AN ODE FOR THE NEW-YEAR 1768.
By Henry Scratch'em, Esq; Director General of the Ordnance,
and Surveyor and Controller of the Fire-Works.
When Jemmicumjunto first drew out his blade,
Toddletum, toddletum, toddletum, toddy!
He swore that he never wou'd beat the chamade;
Toddletumtum, tumtumtoddle oddy!
But ah when the crisis of trial is come
He puts up his dagger and muffles his drum.
Tulder o! luddy, tulder o! luddy,
Tuddletumtum, tumtumderuddle luddy!
. . . [7 more verses]
General, Grand Chorus.
Sing riddletum, tiddletum, fiddletum fag!
Twiddletum, thriddletum, quiddletum quiddy;
And niddletume, diddletum, briddletum brag!
Thwiddletum, squiddletum, giddletum giddy!
